We are a 4th generation family farm that was started in 1908 by E.C. Clendenen and is now run by his grandson Clif, and his great-grandson, Drew. We grow 32 varieties of apples, run a retail store in Fortuna, are well known for our unpasteurized cider, and sell fresh apples around Humboldt County throughout the fall.

We maintain a clover and rye cover crop as well as a native pollinator hedge, perform hand thinning on all of our apples, and use a mating disruption pheromone to control codling moths in our orchard. Since last year, we are slowly converting to drip irrigation, which reduces our water usage. The orchard contains mature standard trees (some dating back to 1868!), dwarf and semi dwarf varieties, and most recently a section of trellised varieties. Throughout the season we will pick each tree multiple times to supply customers with apples that are fresh, ripe and tasty.
